TrustGo: Good Security

TrustGo is an antivirus and an Android security app that is just what I decided to use after trying a lot.

Why?
1. Very good detection rates.
2. But still more lightweight than well known antiviruses like Avast.
3. Has a simple theft protection system through online free registration.

Strobe Light: Flash light flicker

Assume you are trapped in an island in the dark and are trying to seek help or perhaps waiting for your friend who can't see where you are standing at night..

Strobe Light is a simple app that uses your phone camera's flash light in pulses with your desired speed. It might come in handy someday when you're in trouble!

Urban Dictionary: A Tourist Saver

If you are a tourist in the UK or the US and you found yourself stuck unable to understand unofficial English words related to their culture, this dictionary may aid you out.

News360: Another visually appealing news

But it's not just visually appealing. The main benefit of this app is that you can always read the same news from different news sources (perspectives) on the fly.

WiFi Analyzer: Optimize your home WiFi

Ever wondered why your WiFi setup at home suddenly stopped working as good as before? Check this..

Every WiFi / access point will provide its signal with one of 14 or 16 (depending on brand) frequencies called channels. If you are on the same channel your neighbor is on, chances are there is signal interference/distortion. You have to log in your device settings and change the channel.

Here is the problem though..how are you going to know the channels the other WiFis are connected to? WiFi Analyzer app is the solution through which thou will be able to scan surrounding devices. It will provide you with the necessary info.

As you can see on the screenshot these WiFis are connected on the same channels but their owners are probably not aware of it. One day when the interference becomes so strong they will have to change the channels or experience problems in connectivity.

kobo: Book Library & App

In my opinion, kobo is the best reading experience Android has to offer.

The kobo books database has lots of free books as well as paid ones with affordable prices. It is a neat application with constant improvement through updates.

The best beloved feature in my opinion is the instant dictionary available for you the moment you hold on a word. I've waited for it for so long and kobo hasn't failed me.

kobo is also found on Apple store which means if you switched to Apple products you will still enjoy the books you purchased in the cloud.

Skitch: Express & Highlight Ideas

You loved something you were reading on the internet or a book and wanted to highlight or express an idea? Then take a quick screenshot and share it with the skitch app and start working on it.

You will love it!

Evernote: Your cloud notes companion

Jot down all your personal and work related stuff organized on evernote and you will never worry to lose them again. It is one of the very popular apps on Android.

You have a 45 megabyte online space to sync to per month. Which is usually enough for note taking.

One of the great tools in your time management arsenal. What is amazing about this tool?

1. Jot down your tasks in style and easily mark them as OK (done) on your home screen widget.

2. Schedule your tasks as daily or weekly and be reminded on time.

3. Keep track of the history of all your finished tasks and never lose your records even if you lost your phone...Any.DO syncs your data all in the cloud (on the internet) just make sure to sign in with your Gmail account.

4. Enjoy this app with the ease of a home screen widget.

XClinometer: Handy Tool

Edit: Level Meter app works more accurately on my phone, and I recommend it as a replacement to this app (1 March 2013).

Open this app and put your phone on your table, if the green bubble is not in the middle circle then the table is not on a leveled surface, or perhaps your phone is slightly inclined. And if you are facing this app you want to find out where the 45 degrees to your left will be, this is the app for you.

This app is mostly useful for engineers but it might come handy sometimes.

SimpleMind Free: Easy Mindmap app

Just in case you want a very simple and easy to use mind map app that's working great :-)

Share Your High Quality Apps Here!

The object of this blog is to provide people with high quality android app recommendations and brief reviews. There are more than 700,000 apps in the Google Play store by now and it will be very uncomfortable for an average android user to filter the best of the best of apps in each category. Hence I have made this blog to share my own Android experience of the high quality apps and I'm willing to listen to all of your different opinions and takes on apps in order for this blog content to be always cutting-edge quality apps and reviews.

All my recommendations are going to be based on my own personal experience. There are no professional reviews here, so the content is bound to change every now and then. Each time I find a better app over the other I will change the content to suit the latest and highest quality apps out there.

My current phone is Samsung Galaxy Note 2, with Jelly Bean 4.1.1 as of today 03/02/2013, and all my recommendations are going to be based on this hardware.

Let us consider this as an open source Android App review experience. However you will feel about the upcoming Android app reviews agreeing or disagreeing, all IS good! All is to find the best of them to use in our daily lives. And yes, things might look different for each of us, but still there are some things many people agree on :) So let's find out!
